Under 5 Guide: 10+Things To Do With Littles In York & Adams County

Looking for fun activities you can do with your baby or toddler? We often hear from a lot of caregivers that caring for younger children can feel isolating and that finding support, as well as friends, can be a struggle. To help we’ve created an Under 5 Guide filled with suggestions for classes and activities that we hope will help inspire you to get out of the house and interacting with others! 


1. Storytime at the Library

With 13 local York County & 6  Adams County libraries to choose from there is a wide variety of baby, toddler, and preschool storytimes as well as special events happening weekly.

2. Adams County Arts Council Music Together Classes

Share a love of music with your infant, toddler, preschooler, and kindergartener in these interactive family classes. Have fun with singing, fingerplays, creative movement, and instrument exploration as part of a nurturing musical community. Music Together is the leader of research-based, early-childhood music and movement programs, recognizing that everyone has the ability to sing in tune, keep a beat, and experience world cultures through music.

3. The Curious Little Playhouse Hanover

The Curious Little Playhouse is a hands-on indoor kid's play space and toy store where adults and kiddos can let their imagination run wild during their 2-hour play session in their HUGE playroom.

4.COB51 Art Studio 

In addition to their open creativity hours, and special events COB51 Art Studio offers a Preschool Storytime and  Craft time throughout the year!  Story Time is great for ages 2-5!
During each session children will enjoy a different book and create a project based on the book! Visit their website for info on upcoming storytimes. 


5. Music and Motion

Music and Motion offer families a special way to spend a morning together, reconnect at the end of the workday, or to start off your Saturday. 

They offer two 10-week semesters (Fall & Spring) and two 5-week mini sessions (Winter & Summer).

6. Center of the Arts 

Center of the Arts offers the following dance classes: 

MOMMY & ME (AGES 2-3)

PRE-SCHOOL BALLET (AGES 3-4, 1ST YEAR)

8. NEXTStep Martial Arts

NEXTStep Martial Arts' Little Ninjas (ages 3-4 years ) is the only Martial Arts program in the area, for ages 3-4, that allows children to experience a unique, skill building, super fun class!

9. The Edge Dance Complex 

TUTU'S AND TUMBLING is a  Ballet/Tumbling Combo offered at  The Edge Dance Complex suitable for ages 3-4.  Children will learn basic ballet positions, movement, and terminology to build motor skills, grace, and confidence.

10. Always Dancing LLC

Always Dancing LLC offers  the following classes for children as young as 18 months: 

BABY STARS

Ages:  18 months - 2 years
Classes: This class includes parent/guardian involvement


TIPPY TOES

Ages:  2 years - 3 years
Classes: This class does not require parent/guardian involvement


SHINING STARS

Ages: 3 years - 4 years
Classes: Creative Movement, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop

11. Li’l Dumplings at Hollabough's 

Li’l Dumplings program is for children ages 2 to 5 years old with a caregiver. Kids who participate in our Little Dumplings program will:

  • Enjoy story time with a book related to the theme.
  • Learn about various aspects of farming with hands-on activities.
  • Take home something special each week – from hand-picked fruit to a hand-made craft!

Sessions occur on Thursdays at 10am or 3pm.
