WITF Presents Be My Neighbor Day April 5 at Keystone Kidspace

By WITF March 17, 2025

WITF invites the community to celebrate Be My Neighbor Day from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., Saturday, April 5, at Keystone Kidspace, 10 East Hamilton Avenue, York. Free registration is available at witf.org/neighborday.

During this free event, inspired by Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood and supported by PNC Grow Up Great®, families can meet community helpers and celebrate being caring neighbors. Families can also meet and take their picture with special guest Daniel Tiger from the series.

“Be My Neighbor Day celebrates living in a caring and engaged community,” said Jennifer Eley,  director of education at Pennon Education. “Our activities focus on exploring the power of community through STEM stations, career connections and opportunities to share kindness.”

Families can design Kindness Cards to send to loved ones, enjoy bilingual story times in English and Spanish, make special gifts for family and friends, and explore different ways to be helpers in our neighborhood.

Through the support of PNC Grow Up Great®, each child who attends will receive a reusable tote bag – great for carrying crafts and take-home resources – and a free book that explores ways to be a kind and active participant in the community.

“PNC is pleased to once again support Be My Neighbor Day to benefit children and families in the Central Pennsylvania region,” said Jim Hoehn, PNC regional president for Central Pennsylvania. “By collaborating on engaging programs like this one, we are encouraging children to discover, learn and grow.”

In the spirit of being a caring neighbor, Keystone Kidspace is offering free admission during Be My Neighbor Day. Families are invited to explore and play in its creative, interactive spaces.

This family-friendly event is free and open to the public; families with children of all ages are encouraged to attend. Free registration is available at witf.org/neighborday.

Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood is in its seventh season on PBS KIDS. Watch the series on WITF TV weekdays at 9 a.m. or stream it anytime using the free PBS KIDS Video app.
