FunFest is the Adams County Public Libraries' free event that celebrates the kick-off of SummerQuest, the ACLS summer learning program. The need for free, high-quality programs for children and youth that are both fun and educational is critical during the summer months when they are susceptible to what is referred to as the "summer slide". In order to engage the children and youth of Adams County, both physically and mentally, they offer the free annual SummerQuest program. This program provides children the opportunity to experience everything the library has to offer through leisure reading, virtual programs, and participation in a variety of activities. This year’s Funfest will be held on June 10 from 4pm -7 pm at the Gettysburg Rec Park and the theme is ‘Oceans of Possibilities.’
FunFest encourages children and families to participate in SummerQuest, as well as experience everything the community has to offer. There will be food, music, face painting, balloon art and more. This year the Dairy Association Truck will be selling their popular Farm Show milkshakes and the Gettysburg Fire Department will have their truck on display.
