A sneaky daughter, a messy house and of course GIVEAWAYS!

By Julie Hall - Publisher/Editor of Macaroni Kid Gettysburg/Hanover November 14, 2017

Hi there!

Sorry I missed you last week, time totally got away from me. Maybe it’s all the Christmas decorating we started doing. Don’t worry, it’s only the inside of the house, we’re not subjecting our neighbors to our outside display until Thanksgiving.

The only problem now is that my house looks like a tornado hit and I can’t even blame the kids. I have the boxes of Christmas decorations out in the kitchen, shopping bags with new decorations in the living room and then the non-Christmas things that need a new home until January. I almost thought about taking a picture to so you that I’m not exaggerating, but it’s just too embarrassing. However, I'm okay with showing you a preview of the actual decorations!

With Christmas decorating, comes Christmas shopping. For the first time in my entire life I have gotten some of my shopping done early. I’ve become the kind of person I resent every year. You know, the mom who’s like ‘I got all my shopping done in June!” WHAT? I mean I’m totally jealous, and I want her secrets to life, but it just makes me feel like a slacker.

So, back to shopping. I had most of the Princess’ presents stashed in the trunk of my car. I just hadn’t found a good time to bring them in when she wasn’t around. Last week, she decides that she wants to put her backpack in the trunk. Guess who forgot that the presents where back there? That’s right, This Girl! Thankfully, she only spotted one of them. We ended up giving it to her, because she’ll never forget about it and I mean, she already knows. So, Chris, being a smart and very tall man, hid the rest of the gifts on top of the dryer (it’s a stackable one). I can’t even see up there.

Then, last week I bought another small gift and had to hide it quickly. I threw it in a table next to the couch. It had sliding doors and you can barely slide them open because it’s so close to the couch. The Princess never looks in there. She barely ever sits on that side of the couch. But this little monster managed to find her gift anyway! I might have to take a play out of my mother’s play book and hide presents at Grandma’s house.

I’m adding Holiday events to the calendar as quickly as I can! Main Street Gettysburg is hosting their 3rd annual Victorian Christmas on Steinwehr Avenue. You can get more information right here. If you have your own holiday event you'd like to add to our calendar just email me back or reach out on Facebook.

I’d would like to introduce all of you to Paula with SimplyFun Games! She is our newest featured local vendor. I'll be hosting a SimplyFun Facebook Party in the coming weeks and in true Macaroni Kid fashion there will be at least one Giveaway! Check my Facebook page for the exact date. If you're looking for gifts that are perfect for kids of all ages, you NEED to be there. Seriously, I have about 20 of their games at home and we all love them. You can find out more about Paula and about SimplyFun here. My kids and I are actually the ones in the pictures in the articles. I've had these games for years and I can personally vouch for how great they are!

If you're a local vendor or direct sales rep and you'd like to partner up with Macaroni Kid now is the perfect time! Email me at juliehall@macaronikid.com and let me know!

And now for the Giveaways! If you follow us on Facebook, you are probably aware that we are giving away two tickets for the Meet the Princesses Breakfast on Saturday, 11/18/2017. If you haven’t entered yet, you still have until Thursday night! Just click right here!

The other awesome giveaway going on right now is for a $250 Target gift card! I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t want to win that one! Here is more information on it.

Well, I think I've gone through everything that's been going on lately! As always, if you have any questions or suggestions email me. I love hearing from you!
