By Sarah Frane Macaroni Kid Gettysburg-Hanover April 8, 2024

Calling all skywatchers and astronomy enthusiasts! A stunning solar eclipse is headed our way on Monday afternoon. More than 30 million people across the country will have the chance to see the moon pass directly in front of the sun, blocking out most of its light.

Here in York & Adams County, we'll get to see about 85 to 90 percent totality starting around 3:21pm. While we won't experience a full total eclipse, it will still be an awe-inspiring celestial event as the moon covers the majority of the sun.

Several locations in our area will be hosting viewing parties and events to celebrate the eclipse so grab some eclipse glasses and join us for this amazing astronomical phenomenon!
